A Although DIY solar energy kits are available and can be customized to your home and your fuel needs it is not a simple job to undertake - keep in mind the following points:
1 Good plumbing and building skills are essential. As solar panels can be very heavy you need to know that your roof is able to take the extra weight - especially if they are to be fitted over existing tiles.
2 It’s no good just assuming that your water heating system will be compatible with a solar system. Combination boilers are very popular - but having one could cause you problems. Solar systems are usually low pressure and work around having a water tank. Neither of these are features of a combi-boiler.
3 Installation grants are not available on DIY systems.
